Hey gang, While I maintain that in it’s current state I can’t use FCPX professionally, I also maintain that now is the best time to be learning the powerful capabilities of the software.

I continue to believe that FCPX will one day mature to a viable professional application, with the support of a robust 3rd party ecosystem. That’s why I think now, in it’s nascent early days, is a very good time for the enterprising editor to be developing their skills in this entirely new application.

One such opportunity is a live seminar by Larry Jordan which will be taking place tomorrow, July 12 in Burbank. If you are in the area I’d recommend attending. There’s a LOT you don’t know about the power of FCPX, but just as important, there’s going to be a ton of 3rd party developers, including FCPX competitors like Adobe and Boris FX there who can answer questions and provide facts and 1st person answers to questions. Also on hand will be video hardware vendors like AJA and Blackmagic Design. Will they make any announcements? Boy I’d sure like to know…
